It's an opportunity to get more gold to finish those dragons. There will be extra, so depending on how much gold you need, you may get two out of it.

To complete some of the  Magic Tasks you only need to visit these lands, you do not have to complete them! 

To complete all the Magic Tasks and collect the final reward you do have to do the lands -- Magic Tasks are NOT part of the quests, they are optional and do not have to be done!!
